Responsibilities Reporting to the site leadership, the Registered Nurse as part of an interdisciplinary team, is responsible for providing care to a diverse patient population in a rural hospital setting . He/she will have patient experiences across the spectrum of all acute and emergency care. The successful applicant must contribute to creating a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff and others. The Registered Nurse practices within the Nova Scotia College of Nurses, NSCN Standards of Nursing Practice for Registered Nurses and the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics and will demonstrate expertise and leadership in nursing practice, demonstrate ongoing commitment to maintaining appropriate clinical competencies required through educational sessions with clinical nurse educator, self- directed study, simulation, etc.

Experience

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Registered or eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses (NSCN) Current BLS-C (Basic Life Support – C) Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Previous acute care experience an asset Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with patients/residents, families, other health care provide and staff while demonstrating sensitivity, empathy and warmth Ability to demonstrate sound decision-making skills in crisis situations and be accountable for decisions Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational health Basic computer skills Good attendance and work record Physical and mental capabilities to perform duties of the position Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Hours of Work Permanent Part Time 40%; 30 hours bi-weekly Commencing as soon as possible Salary Information Registered Nurse: $35.2108 - $41.4848 hourly $42.9366 hourly with 25 years experience Thank you for your interest in this position.
