Incentives: Successful Candidates maybe eligible for a $10,000 lump sum payment upon signing, subject to a two (2) year Return of Service agreement with the General Medical Unit at the Strait Richmond Hospital located in Evanston, NS. Candidates may also be eligible for a relocation allowance of up to $2500 if relocating from within Nova Scotia and up to $5000 if relocating from outside Nova Scotia, for approved expenses with original receipts provided. If you have questions regarding this posting please contact firstname.lastname@example.org Responsibilities The Registered Nurse practices within the Nova Scotia College of Nurses (NSCN) Standards of Nursing Practice for Registered Nurses and the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics; is responsible and accountable for the nursing care of an assigned group of patients and their families; provides guidance and leadership to peers and other staff; works in a collaborative relationship with colleagues, unit staff, students and members of related health disciplines.
Registered (or eligible for registration) with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses (NSCN) BLS - C (current) Current certification in CPI or willingness to obtain within six months of employment ACLS certified or willingness to obtain certification within six months of employment Cultural Competency Computer literacy or willingness to obtain Commitment to the philosophy of family centred care nursing Proven clinical knowledge and the ability to use sound professional judgement Utilization of nursing process Team leading skills and professional team leadership abilities Ability to work in a self-directed environment and also effectively within an interdisciplinary team Ability to adapt to new and varied work situations Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills Demonstrated commitment to self-learning and continuous professional development Physical ability to perform duties of the position Good work and attendance record Commitment to confidentiality and privacy of patients and clients Annual access the training and education on patient, client and personal safety made available by the Nova Scotia Health Authority Commitment to maintain and protect patient, clients and personal safety on an ongoing basis The successful applicant will have a commitment to the mission and values of the Nova Scotia Health Authority Successful Applicants are required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment.

Hours of Work Permanent Full Time Position; 75 hours bi-weekly Salary Information Registered Nurse: $35.2108- $41.4848 hourly $42.9366 hourly with 25 years RN experience Thank you for your interest in this position.
