The Job duties are outlined in the job description. Successful candidate will be required to float between General Medical Unit and the Emergency Department as per operational requirements.


Qualifications Licensed in the Province of Nova Scotia with Nova Scotia College of Nurses Successfully completed Pharmacology Course Current CPR or willingness to obtain Back Care Program or willingness to obtain Current CPI Certification or willingness to obtain Commitment to the philosophy of family centred care Commitment to care planning/discharge planning Adaptable to change and is flexible to accommodate the expectations of the position Working knowledge and proficiency with a variety of computer software and programs Ability to work in a self-directed environment and also effectively within an interdisciplinary team Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills Demonstrated commitment to self-learning and continuous professional development Physical ability to perform duties of the position Good work and attendance record Geriatric/Rehab nursing experience an asset Medical Surgical nursing experience an asset Commitment to maintain and protect patient, client, and personal safety on an ongoing basis Commitment to confidentiality and privacy of NSHA patients and clients Annually access the training and education on patient, client and personal safety made available by NSHA The successful applicant will have a commitment to the mission and values of the Nova Scotia Health Authority Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred Successful Applicants are required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) to Human Resources before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment
